For the past 3 months this has been my view. Beautiful isn't it? Unfortunately, I haven't always been able to look at it that way. I admit that at times, the whole "greyness" of it brings me down. I am longing for flowers and tomatoes and my favorite color green. So much so that I have given myself over to complaining about it. But how productive is complaining? Not very. You always enter into it thinking that the whole "camaraderie" of complaining will give you good feelings. We will be united in our woes. But it just doesn't. So, what's a girl to do? Stop complaining. I decided that, part of my Lenten discipline this year will include NO MORE complaining. After all, the Lord wants to hear my praises... not my protests. He has decided to give us mountains of glorious snow and we are fortunate to have it. So, even though I may be feeling "blah" in my heart my tongue will not reveal that. And who knows? Maybe my heart will quickly catch up.Saturday, February 20, 2010
A Tribute to Dear Departed Doggie Friends

Hamish was a sweet little lad from Scotland, and all of us in the blogging community will miss seeing his sweet face too.
If you can, visit Gail at www.hamishthewestie.blogspot.com with some kind words of sympathy. Many of us know the hurt of losing a sweet friend like Hamish.

Funny Orbit Gum Commercial
"Why are girls so mean to each other... it just doesn't make any sense?" This is what my son asked in the car yesterday. Frankly I had no good answer for him. It seems pretty obvious that Mr. "What the Franch Toast," is fooling around with Ms. "Lint Licker." So why are Mrs. "Bisccuit Eating Bulldog's" nastiest comments saved for the girl? And for that matter... why isn't the girl more considerate of the the truly offended party... the other girl? Hummmm?

Hero Hounds
I am a huge fan of those heroes who defend us and protect the defenseless throughout the world. But I have to say I have a huge chunk of my heart dedicated to the fabulous fighting K-9. Their loyalty and bravery are far too unsung. The AP reports that Iraqi defense forces recently requested that more of these brave dogs, be rushed to the region for bomb sniffing purposes at security checkpoints. Roughly 150 trained K-9's will be sent to the region with 25 arriving this week. This comes in spite of a cultural belief, in the region, that dogs are filthy animals unworthy of intensive care and training. I say... kudos to these heroic dogs and their handlers! What say you dog lovers?Wednesday, February 3, 2010
